Back to School Book Reviews... From the Introduction by Robert A. Fox and Patrick J. Wolf:Last January the Senior Editorial Committee of the JSC decided to produce a special section of the journal to feature papers presented at the Second Annual International School Choice and Reform Academic Conference. It did so because it anticipated that many conference papers would be of sufficiently high quality to merit publication in an academic peer-reviewed journal such the JSC, and because the journal and conference serve complementary functions by providing forums for considering ideas, evidence, and arguments regarding parental school choice in its many forms around the world. We find all of these articles to be informative regarding school choice and educational reform in various contexts and dimensions. We hope that you do, too.________________________________________
From the Introduction by Robert Maranto, Book Review Editor:Over the past 15 years I have met, taught, and interviewed more than 1,000 educators, some of whom amaze. When in fieldwork or just in conversation, I've often asked one simple question: What is the book that most influenced you as an educator?
Accordingly, I made a list of about three dozen of the most memorable educators and education researchers I've met, and asked them to write 500 word best book essays. The authors come from district schools, charter schools, and private schools in 13 states. Whatever their format, these 23 essays amuse and delight.
