Tele2 Collaborate – a New Complete Communication Solution for The Public Sector – Launches Today

Report this content

Stockholm – Tele2 AB (“Tele2”) (Nasdaq Stockholm: TEL2 A and TEL2 B) is launching a new complete communication solution designed for the public sector. The service is called Tele2 Collaborate and combines chat functionality, video meetings, whiteboard and document sharing – all under one roof. The solution is the first of its kind that enables collaboration without worrying about sensitive data leaving Sweden.

Tele2 Collaborate is intended to replace existing collaboration tools for organizations that process personal data and other sensitive information The service is designed after the joint work that the Swedish Tax Agency, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, the Swedish Transport Administration and several other organizations completed in the Digital Collaboration Platforms (dSam) project.

One of the biggest advantages of the Tele2 Collaborate cloud service is that all data management and storage is carried out in Sweden by a Swedish supplier, providing data sovereignty, long-term information assurance, and the ability to comply with legal, financial and other regulatory obligations. The service can also be offered as a complete solution for installation in an organization's own IT environment where Tele2's personnel can take responsibility for the service's function, reliability and development.

The demand for sovereign, secure communications is highlighted in The Future of Secure Communication, a global study from Forrester Consulting commissioned by Element. It shows that technology leaders want a communications platform that offers end-to-end encryption (78%), digital sovereignty (71%), and federation with other organizations (69%).

The study also highlights that countries with a strong Work From Home culture, such as Sweden, struggle with shadow IT. Globally, 74% of leaders say they are experiencing challenges securing internal communications due to the rise of hybrid work.

"We are monitoring developments closely and adapting our offering to what each segment of the market demands. The Digital Collaboration Platforms project clearly showed that in the public sector there is a need for secure collaboration solutions that handle even the most sensitive of data. Tele2 Collaborate complements our existing products and services to manage secure messaging and collaborations, and to combat shadow IT issues with consumer messaging apps, says Stefan Trampus, Executive Vice President B2B at Tele2.

Tele2 will provide the service using Element Server Suite (ESS), an advanced open platform based on the Matrix protocol that includes a range of enterprise-grade features for large-scale deployments.

"We are pleased to be able to work with Tele2 to provide organizations with this opportunity for digitally sovereign and secure collaboration. Through Tele2 Collaborate, Element will be available both on-premise and through a managed hosting service,” says Amandine Le Pape, co-founder and chief operating officer, at Element.

Digital meetings in the service take place in Tele2 Video. This makes it possible to participate in Tele2 Collaborate meetings from a computer, standards-based conferencing systems, telephone and even Skype clients. Tele2 Video also includes complete solutions for room systems as a service, secure identification of external guests with, for example, Bank-ID and solutions for recording and streaming.

Tele2 Collaborate also includes a seamless integration of a digital whiteboard from NUITEQ, which promotes interactivity and engagement in modern meetings.

"We at NUITEQ are very pleased to be part of the Tele2 Collaborate solution, which is a very important milestone for us. NUITEQ focuses on creating secure digital tools for creative modern meetings where the whiteboard is at the center while having a strong focus on digital sovereignty," says Harry van der Veen, CEO and founder of NUITEQ.
