Stockholm– For the third consecutive year, Tele2 AB (“Tele2”) (Nasdaq Stockholm: TEL2 A and TEL2 B) has been recognized as climate leader by The Financial Times and Statista.

In the prestigious Europe’s Climate Leaders 2025 ranking, Tele2 once again ranks as number one – a clear testament to the company’s long-term, ambitious sustainability efforts. Tele2 achieved a total score of 87.5 out of 100, based on a combination of emissions reduction, transparency, and climate goals. The company reported a 58.4% reduction in core emissions intensity (Scope 1 and 2) from 2018 to 2023, with total emissions reductions reaching 99%.

-Being recognized as the number one company overall in Europe’s Climate Leaders 2025 ranking is a strong confirmation that our sustainability efforts are delivering real impact – showing that we are leading in sustainability in Sweden. We are proud of the progress we’ve made in reducing our climate footprint and driving positive change, says Erik Wottrich, Head of Sustainability at Tele2.

The ranking is based on companies’ success in reducing greenhouse gas emissions from their own operations (Scope 1 and 2) relative to revenue, transparency around value chain emissions (Scope 3), and broader sustainability initiatives and goals.

In June, Tele2 was recognized by TIME Magazine and Statista as the most sustainable company in Sweden and ranked 37th globally.

Since 2019, Tele2 has reduced its emissions in own operations by  96% and in 2022, it became the first company in Sweden to have its net-zero targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Tele2 continues its efforts by focusing on innovation, energy efficiency, and sustainable solutions for both consumers and businesses.
