Terveystalo Press Release 30 November 2021

Vantaa City Executive Board has approved the sale of AITO Työterveys - Vantaan Työterveys Oy to Terveystalo on 30 November 2021. The agreement is expected to be signed at the end of December, after the appeal period has ended. The ownership will be transferred in February 2022. In addition, the agreement includes the provision of occupational health services to the City of Vantaa for 4 years, starting from 1 February 2022.

AITO Työterveys - Vantaa Työterveys Oy is a wholly owned subsidiary of the City of Vantaa. The company provides the City of Vantaa with occupational health services as well as corporate and seafarers' health services in Vantaa, Helsinki, Espoo, Kauniainen and Kerava. The company employs more than 50 people and offers services in three locations in the capital region. In 2020, AITO Työterveys revenue was approximately EUR 7.5 million. The acquisition expands Terveystalo's offering of occupational health services in the region and brings numerous new customers, especially from the SME sector.

“We warmly welcome AITO Työterveys personnel to Terveystalo. AITO Työterveys is a major provider of occupational health services in the Helsinki capital region. The company perfectly complements our expertise and strengthens our customer base in a key area. I am also pleased that we will be able to provide occupational health services to the City of Vantaa and develop them together. Terveystalo is the market leader in occupational health for municipalities and other public bodies, and we know our customers' needs very well. With the acquisition, AITO Työterveys customers will have access to Terveystalo's high-quality digital services in addition to the existing services. In addition, the professionals of AITO Työterveys will have access to Finland's largest network of health experts, "says Mikko Tainio, Senior Vice President of Public Partnerships at Terveystalo.

“AITO Työterveys has done a great job, and the change of ownership will enable the company's further development and growth in the future. The sale is related to the ongoing welfare area reform. After the transfer of Vantaa's social and health care and rescue services to the welfare area and the division of its small business services in the Helsinki metropolitan area into many different areas, the ownership of the company would be quite fragmented. In other words, the sales are based on a change in the operating environment,” says Ritva Viljanen, Mayor of Vantaa.

The change of ownership will not affect the status of persons employed by AITO Työterveys, and they will continue to work for the company under the new owner.
