Company to educate viewers on importance of flu prevention in special “Health Matters” series

(Pompano Beach, FL – CISION – December 5, 2013) – Protein Sciences Corporation recently completed its shoot for the popular show The Balancing Act® airing on Lifetime TV. The company will be making its appearance in the upcoming “Health Matters” series slated to air December 9th and 16th during National Influenza Immunization Week.

In the segment, “Preventing the Flu,” Dr. Manon Cox, President and CEO of Protein Sciences Corp. will talk to viewers about how the influenza virus is spread, and who is at risk.

Cox will also introduce viewers to the Flublok® Influenza Vaccine. Flublok is a new, pure flu vaccine that, unlike other flu vaccines, is made without chicken eggs, influenza virus, preservatives, antibiotics, gelatin, or latex. A dose of Flublok has three times (3x) the protective antigen contained in traditional flu vaccines.

We are excited to partner with the Balancing Act and get our message out there on a national level! Women often make the healthcare decisions in the household, and it is important that they can make an informed decision on flu vaccination. Flublok is a terrific option for those seeking a pure flu vaccine that does not contain influenza virus, derivates from egg, or other ingredients that people may not want to put into their bodies,” said Cox.
