World Vision reminds viewers about the importance of helping children living in poverty, and how parents can involve their own kids to make a difference during the season of giving and beyond

(Pompano Beach, FL – CISION – June 7, 2013) The Balancing Act® on Lifetime TV is pleased to have World Vision, Inc. as a participant on its show to talk about its mission to help children and families who live in poverty as part of a “Family Ties” series slated to air during the holiday season.

There are millions of children in the US who are hungry, homeless, and deprived of the most basic needs in life. A representative from World Vision will address these issues on The Balancing Act® and discuss how parents can raise their own children to recognize the value of giving to another child in need, and the benefits of direct involvement to make a difference.

Founded in 1950, World Vision, Inc. is a non-profit organization that strives to help underserved children and families who are in serious need of food, personal hygiene items, household products, school supplies and more due to poverty or emergency disaster. World Vision works with families, caregivers, and communities to provide empowerment, mentoring programs and other resources.

“The Balancing Act® is proud to have World Vision on its show for such a noble cause. The holidays should be a joyful time in the lives of children, and we welcome World Vision and its message of generosity and goodwill towards others,” says Doug Campbell, Executive VP of Programming for The Balancing Act® on Lifetime TV.
