Springbank Flowers, Manchester’s leading florist, has been given responsibility for welcoming the Three Wise men to famous Blenheim Palace for Christmas 2012. In what promises to be a memorably dramatic year the internationally popular florist will be decorating the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and current home of the 11thDuke and Duchess of Marlborough, with a “Story of The Three Kings” Christmas theme.

Christmas is a magical time to visit Britain's Greatest Palace. This year from 10thNovember to 14thDecember (Wednesday to Sunday inclusive) the Palace will be decorated in a very special theme to tell the Christmas story of the Three Kings.

Visitors are able to follow the journey of the Three Kings through the State Rooms decorated in glittering gold and festooned in silk. Two magnificent Christmas trees stand in splendour in the Great Hall, surrounded by palm trees in pots bejewelled in the colours of the Far East. From the balcony above the Great Hall, the Star of Bethlehem shines out to guide the Three Kings on their way. Baubles and crystals on lush ribbons, shining golden leaves, clusters of peacock feathers and striking turquoise and emerald green marabou fans provide an exotic welcome to the Palace.

The journey of the Three Kings continues to the Saloon where the grand table is dressed for an exquisite banquet. Fabulous hand carved swans encrusted with golden petals tower over the banquet with peacocks, fruit, real frankincense and myrrh, backlit by a hand-made illuminated star.

In the Long Library a star shines from the majestic central Christmas tree, representing the passage of the Three Kings. Guiding angels show the Three Kings to their final destination, the Chapel, where they find the baby Jesus in the manger, beneath a shining star.

Anna-Liisa Evans, owner of Springbank Flowers, said; “This is a real privilege – to be able to reflect the splendour of this fabled spectacle in the historic context of Blenheim. We have dressed some fabulous venues and had celebrity clients before but never have we been able to celebrate the most colourful and regal of holy stories in such august surroundings. Springbank’s aim is to raise the experience of all visitors to the Palace from exceptional to outstanding and send them away with the best of Christmas cheer”.

Hannah Payne, Marketing & PR Manager at Blenheim Palace comments; “We are so impressed with the floral displays provided by Springbank Flowers. They have applied exceptional imagination and creativity whilst being sensitive to the magnificent heritage setting of the Palace. The golden swan displays in the Saloon provide a real wow-factor for our visitors to enjoy this Christmas season."
