Top Manchester Florist picked to decorate Manchester Central for Royal visit
Springbank Flowers, Manchester’s leading florist, was selected to provide the décor for the Queen’s visit to Manchester Central Convention Complex on 23rdMarch.
Her Majesty was in Manchester as part of HM’s Jubilee tour and took the opportunity to unveil a plaque to mark the end of a £30m redevelopment project at Manchester Central that has taken three years to complete.
The décor, designed by Springbank’s owner Anna-Liisa Evans, was structural and contemporary using Guzmania plants, Tulips, Hydrangea and Strelitziaas well as Mokara and Vanda orchids to create a clean architectural aesthetic that reflects the new building. Springbank also showcased a really special bespoke design - an ‘upside down’ orange Guzmania tree with a blue hydrangea base. This show stopping feature took extraordinary technical skills to create and had serious impact.
Evans took over Springbank Flowers in 2004. Since then her expertise has enabled Springbank to gain international recognition and an enviable client list. She said of this appointment; “It was a real honour to be selected to represent Manchester on this auspicious occasion. We pulled out all the stops for the royal visit making sure Manchester Central really was fit for The Queen.”
