Essex rider takes Showjumping Championship at Royal Windsor Horse Show
Jenny Brown from Ingatestone and Blackmore RC in Essex has won the Senior Novice Showjumping title in the Amtrust Equine RWHS Unaffiliated Championships at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
The competition gives grass roots riders a unique opportunity to compete at Royal Windsor. All competitors are members of the British Riding Clubs movement and earned their places in these finals at individual riding club qualifiers held across the UK.
This was Jenny’s first time showjumping at Royal Windsor, although she has competed in the showing classes here in the past. On this occasion she rode Whisper Sweet Nothing.
Speaking after the prize giving she said: “I really enjoyed the big show atmosphere, particularly the way competitors in the BRC section were treated in exactly the same way as those in the affiliated classes. We were made to feel very important and really felt part of it. I was thrilled just to be taking part so winning was the icing on the cake!”
Perdie Reid, Claims Manager at Amtrust Equine, said: “We’ve had an absolutely wonderful show. For us this is what it is all about – supporting grass roots horses and ponies. Riding Club horses are exactly the type of animals we want to insure, so this competition is perfect for us to support.”
