New Training Program Equips Recruiters With Veteran Hiring Expertise

HERNDON, Va., June 14, 2012 - Global human capital services firm The Buller Group announced today the launch of The Certified Veteran Recruiter (CVR) Program, a new industry accredited, two-day training course that provides professional recruiters with the expertise needed for skillful Veteran talent acquisition. The CVR Program is designed to establish competency in all aspects of the recruiting lifecycle as they pertain to the military Veteran job candidate.

Veterans are a unique subset of the labor market, and largely unfamiliar to civilian recruiting professionals. Lack of adequate knowledge and skill with Veteran job candidates contributes to high unemployment among Veterans. Training recruiting professionals to effectively source, screen, interview, assess and hire Veterans is critical to the success of any Veteran hiring initiative.

Recent analysis by Monster.com highlighted five employment challenges for Veterans, all of which are addressed in the CVR Program. "The Monster.com report is just further validation of what we know about Veteran unemployment: internal recruiters have a competency gap that simply must be closed, and quickly. This is precisely the need we are addressing with the CVR Program," said Rob Buller, Founder and CEO of The Buller Group.

The CVR Program’s Certificate of Completion bears the official seal of the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI), and awards 15 credits toward PHR & SPHR recertification. The CVR professional credential differentiates organizations from the competition for military talent, demonstrates commitment to recruiting excellence, and confers status to the individual recruiting professionals who attain it.
