CAMPING AND CARAVANNING CLUB INVESTS £1.9 MILLION INTO SITE NETWORK
The Camping and Caravanning Club is continuing to listen to its members and has today announced that it reinvested £1.9 million into Club Site redevelopment work last year.
The on-going network redevelopment programme is strengthening the Club’s campsite portfolio, making it even more attractive to holidaymakers whilst securing the long term sustainability of the Club.
A significant number of Club Sites have undergone redevelopment work to enhance their offerings.
Keswick and Norman’s Bay have received improvements to their site facilities – Keswick’s toilets have been upgraded and Norman’s Bay has a new reception area.
A number of sites have had their roads – and some approach roads - resurfaced, including: Barnard Castle, Canterbury, Clent Hills, Conker’s National Forest, Dunstan Hill, Keswick, Milarrochy Bay, Sandringham, Verwood and Winchcombe.
Popular Club Site Chertsey, which is just 30 minutes from the capital, has had its pitches refurbished.
As a key part of its membership, the Club is dedicated to providing activities for families and has installed new children’s playgrounds, at; Devizes, Dunbar, Dunstan Hill, Hertford and Windermere.
Site utilities have been upgraded at California Cross, Haltwhistle, Kingsbury Water Park and Windermere.
Finally, campers can be assured that the Club is doing their utmost to ensure their safety and security as the entrance barriers have been updated at the following sites: Beadnell Bay, Chertsey, Mablethorpe, Minehead, Norman’s Bay and Scarborough.
Simon and Suzan Hill, Holiday Site Mangers at Keswick Club Site, the most popular campsite on the Club network which has undergone recent redevelopment work said: “We are delighted with the work which has been completed – our new facility block is fantastic and offers more showers, two family rooms, a laundry room and a backpackers room – which even has its own microwave!”
Gerald and Denise Biddle, Holiday Site Managers at Verwood Club Site, are equally impressed with their completed work and they added: “Improvements to the facilities in general have been extremely well received by our members – in particular, the new layout of the washrooms.
“Our recreation facilities have also been upgraded and we now have a dedicated ball area. Campers of all ages can also enjoy garden games outside the main out-buildings - these have proved to be very popular and have been used in all weathers!”

Bob Hill, Sites Director, said: “As a not-for-profit organisation, we’re dedicated to improving our campsite offering and we know that our current redevelopment work has already made an impact with members and our Holiday Site Teams.
“After a successful 2014 season, we’re accelerating our winter redevelopment work with a further £1m of reinvestment. We hope that members and non-members are inspired to come and experience our improved site network offering for themselves.”
