Easy Camp, part of the Danish Oase Outdoors group, has committed to sponsoring The Camping and Caravanning Club’s Camping Club Youth for the next three years.

Camping Club Youth is for campers aged 12 to 17, and offers the opportunity to learn new skills such as pitching tents, cooking, map-reading and first aid. Organised camping activities include weekends of pony-trekking, mountain walking, rock-climbing and canoeing. Also, it provides the chance to attend the annual International Youth Rally held in a different European country each year.

As part of the sponsorship agreement, the Camping Club Youth will display the Easy Camp logo on their programmes and information, clothing and Youth Leaders Lanyard. The partnership will be promoted on the Club website, and Oase Outdoors will attend a select number of Camping and Caravanning Club events, including the biggest annual camping rally, the National Feast of Lanterns.

Also, Easy Camp will supply camping equipment for six Youth Leaders to support blog activity.

Easy Camp is part of Oase Outdoors, a family-run Danish parent company for three of Europe’s most successful camping brands that also include Outwell and Robens. Its fundamental aim is to make the outdoors easy for everyone, and a fun, vibrant environment in which to enjoy the freedom of life.

Easy Camp representative, Clive Garrett, said: “We believe everyone should have the chance to enjoy outdoor life and the benefits to health and the development of valuable life skills that our pastime brings. Our ethos is to create quality, reliable equipment that will lay the foundations for a great outdoor experience no matter if you are a first time camper or someone camping on a strict budget.

“Our sponsorship of Camping Club Youth will help us share our love of the outdoors with a vibrant community of young campers who relish the fun when camping with friends.

“We will be able to support the development of vital camping skills and provide equipment to help youngsters experience diverse aspects of camping. And we will be able to share these experiences through our social media channels to encourage others to join Camping Club Youth and thereby ensure its future and that of the next generation of campers.”

Club Director General, Robert Louden MBE, said: “The Club is passionate about promoting and developing camping for young people, and we’re proud of what our Camping Club Youth group achieves.

“Research to support our recent campaign to ‘Get Kids Camping’ found that 95% of parents feel their children are happier when camping, and 93% felt it provided useful skills for later life. There are real benefits for young people when camping is their classroom: it has a positive effect on behaviour and facilitates learning.

“Thanks to Easy Camp support, our Camping Club Youth will help many more young people not only grow up to be more confident campers, but also better-rounded individuals.”
