Norfolk landscape inspires band’s debut EP

Norfolk’s big skies and epic landscapes are the inspiration behind a Norwich band’s debut EP.

Released on 21st January 2013, The Sharps debut EP ‘Road Movies’ includes the band’s two single releases – ‘My Love Ain’t Gonna Save You’ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqL84WDO_5A) and ‘Cage Of Love’ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBm9a_HgV5Y) – along with three previously unreleased tracks. Both singles’ music videos were shot by the band in and around Norfolk. ‘Cage of Love’ follows a road movie storyline, with a final sequence that parodies the ending of ‘Thelma & Louise’. Instead of being stranded before a Utah canyon, these local lads wind up at the cliff tops of Trimingham Beach.

“This is our first official release since signing to London-based publisher Rainbird Music,” says Callum Morgan, lead singer and bassist in The Sharps. “We’ve been attracting interest online and touring, so we’re hoping this EP will keep up the buzz from our current fans as well as reaching new people.

“I’m a film nut, and the road movie is my favourite genre. Norfolk’s big sky and flat landscapes is the perfect road movie setting, and life on the road is what being a musician is all about.”

The EP will be available to download on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon. As they embark on a nationwide tour, the band will also be selling limited edition CDs at their live shows. The tour includes a Norwich gig at The Waterfront Studio on March 30th, with Tilting Sky promotions.
