Stefan Jacobsson has been appointed new chairman of the Thule Group. He is joined by new board members Lottie Svedenstedt, Bengt Baron and Lilian Fossum Biner. The common denominator for all of these is an extensive and successful background in the consumer goods market

The Thule Group investment achieves further pace at store level through the new board’s competence in brand building and retail. This course of direction is well in line with the Thule Group ambition to make its own trademarks available to consumers in stores and contexts associated with an active life.

“Stefan Jacobsson’s background in the outdoor and sports business, and the experience and competence of the other board members regarding consumer products, and the retail trade, will assist the company management in further strengthening the Thule Group’s position”, says Thule Group CEO Magnus Welander.

Stefan Jacobsson’s previous positions include CEO of Tretorn, Abu Garcia and Puma.

“Together with the other board members, I am coming in at a very exciting stage”, says the new chairman Stefan Jacobsson. ”Magnus Welander and his management team have strengthened the group’s brand and its position in the retail trade in an exemplary way, but there are still an abundance of exciting opportunities for further development of the Thule Group.”

Lottie Svedenstedt has several years’ experience in the retail trade from companies such as IKEA and H&M. She is presently a member of several boards. Bengt Baron has a solid background from consumer brands, and is presently CEO of Leaf, and his previous experience includes having been CEO of Vin&Sprit AB. Lilian Fossum Biner is a member of several boards in the consumer goods and retail trade. She was previously part of the Electrolux management and has been deputy CFO of Axel Johnson AB.

Åke Skeppner, Hans Eckerström and Ulf Rosberg remain on the Thule Group board. Former chairman Roger Holtback and board member and former CEO Anders Pettersson are leaving the board.

“We can look back on a number of interesting years with successful financial consolidation, a well-planned CEO change where we have clearly strengthened the Thule Group’s position in the consumer market”, comments Roger Holtback.
