Racing car EVOlution: BILSTEIN Race Team reaches the next level at the Green Hell

Report this content

In its debut season, the BILSTEIN Race Team 2023 impressed with several top finishes in the VT2 class of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS). And the next development step will follow in 2024: with a high-performance racing car, twice as much power as before, new exciting partners and a new driver, the pronounced goal this year is the most spectacular race of the year: the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring.

The end of the season is the beginning of a new season. During the winter, the drivers Jimmy Broadbent, Steve Alvarez Brown und Misha Charoudin – all of them influencers with a large reach in the simracing and motorsports scene – therefore needed to train their fitness and prepare for the new season. This year the team shoots for the moon!

In 2024, the BILSTEIN Race Team will take the next level in its development. The motivated team starts the season with a new racing car, new partners and a new driver. The big goal continues to be the infamous 24-hour race at the legendary Nürburgring – perhaps the biggest challenge for men and materials in international racing.

Jimmy Broadbent, Steve Alvarez Brown and Misha Charoudin will be switching from their beloved G20 BMW 330i to a BMW M4 GT4. The BILSTEIN team has already had the opportunity to test the 550 hp BMW M4 GT4, which is fitted with high-end aerodynamic parts, in Portimao (Portugal).

The drivers were immediately impressed by the car’s overall performance. Above all, however, they embraced the performance of the BILSTEIN EVO R Motorsport suspension, which was tuned on BILSTEIN’s state-of-the-art 7-post-test rig at the Nürburgring.

The BILSTEIN Race Team is starting the season with new strong partners: the shock absorber specialists were able to attract Falken Reifen, RAVENOL and Pagid Racing. The collaboration with the new partners also gives the team access to first-class resources and dedicated expertise. Thanks to joint project realisation, the team not only has access to a broader range of resources and expertise, but can also create synergies that enable it to work even more efficiently.

Falken Reifen is one of the globally most successful tyre manufacturers to strengthen the team. The company is at home both in the aftermarket and as OEM. In addition, Falken Reifen is a well-known brand in international motorsport – especially at the Nürburgring.

Today, RAVENOL is one of the world’s high-grade lubricant brands for premium products. As a partner of the Nürburgring and the NLS as well as the official lubricant partner of the BMW M4 GT4, RAVENOL complements the team perfectly. In addition, RAVENOL will support BILSTEIN in the development of the perfect oil for motorsport. This is unique in the sector.

Just like Pagid Racing, the specialist for high-performance brake components: the brand has been in the premier league of international motorsport for decades with their brake pads, brake discs and brake fluids. The brake pads from Pagid Racing are compatible with most common racing and high-performance brake callipers and can also be used as an upgrade for many standard brake callipers for high-performance vehicles.

Another new fact: BILSTEIN will soon be welcoming a fourth driver to the team. The name is still kept secret.

What’s next for the BILSTEIN Race Team?

The season’s highlight is the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring from 1 to 2 June 2024. Before that, the first two NLS races are scheduled on 6 and 7 April and the qualifying race for the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring is on 13 and 14 April.
