Kent, Wash., November 11, 2013  -- For the second consecutive year, ThyssenKrupp Aerospace, a division of ThyssenKrupp Materials, LLC, has received a “Military Friendly Employer®” designation from Victory Media Inc., a veteran-owned business and publisher of “G.I. Jobs” magazine.

The 2014 Military Friendly Employers® represent those companies with the strongest military recruiting programs and meaningful job opportunities for transitioning service members and spouses seeking civilian employment. The magazine’s selection criteria for the “Military Friendly” designation is based upon the strength of the company’s military recruiting efforts, the percentage of new hires with prior military service, retention programs and company policies on National Guard and Reserve service.

“It is an honor to be noted as a Military Friendly Employer,” said Jeff Luckasavage, President, ThyssenKrupp Aerospace. “The scores of veterans who serve our customers every day are a true testament to the ThyssenKrupp values of integrity, credibility, reliability and consistency which define everything we do.”

Job opportunities at ThyssenKrupp Aerospace are a natural transition for veterans because ThyssenKrupp’s business structure in areas such as supply chain management and third party logistics are key functions within the  military’s structure. In addition, the company, and its affiliates, serve a number of military-friendly industries such as aerospace, automotive, medical devices and oil and gas.

ThyssenKrupp Aerospace maintains key partnerships with every branch of service. These relationships are instrumental in providing specific support for veterans such as translating military job codes as well as coaching and mentoring.

“Across ThyssenKrupp North America, we strive to attract and keep top talent,”said Torsten Gessner, Chief Executive Officer for ThyssenKrupp North America, Inc. “Veterans and other members of the military embody a passion to perform and the courage to strive to be best in class – core values for all of us at ThyssenKrupp.”

The Military Friendly Employers® list, which is verified by Ernst & Young LLP, serves as the primary benchmark of corporate recruiting programs aimed at veterans. An Advisory Board consisting of leaders in the military recruitment community helps determine the list’s methodology, criteria and weightings.
