TLV’s New J6S-X Steam Trap Features Increased Flow Rate and all Stainless Construction

Designed to provide reliable and stable long-term operation, the new J6S-X range of steam traps from Cheltenham-based steam specialist TLV Euro Engineering have been sized to complement the company’s existing J series range of traps.

The CF8-grade stainless-steel J6S-X steam traps also feature thermostatic air venting, which operates using the temperature difference between steam and air. Its combination of precision-ground float, constant water seal ensures a steam tight seal, even under no-load conditions.

TLV’s J6S-X free-float steam traps can be installed on a variety of equipment that uses steam as a heat source, where they provide continuous, smooth, relatively low-velocity condensate discharge as loads vary. The patented self-modulating design also only features a single moving part – the free float – which prevents concentrated wear and provides a long, low maintenance life. In addition to its compact size and larger condensate discharge capacities, J6S-X steam traps are also equipped with an “X-element” to provide a powerful, automatic air vent function.

Stainless steel construction makes the J6S-X ideal for specifications requiring extremely high levels of durability and corrosion resistance. An in-built screen with a large surface area and PTFE gaskets ensure that the free-float steam trap delivers extended trouble-free operation, while easy inline access to internal parts simplifies cleaning and reduces maintenance downtime.

Maximum operating temperature for the J6S-X range is 220 degrees Centigrade; and flow and pressure specifications for the 1” BSP model are 2500 kg/h at 4.5 barg ΔP, 2000 kg/h at 10 barg ΔP and 1600 kg/h at 14 barg ΔP, making the J6S-X range easily and directly interchangeable with most comparable sized steam traps.

About TLV Euro Engineering:
TLV Euro Engineering was founded 60 years ago and is a recognised global leader in steam engineering. The company offers a wide range of steam engineering products supported by services including consulting, site inspections and seminar training.

TLV has always strived to manufacture innovative, high-quality, long-lasting products and systems and one of its early successes – the A3 steam trap – was awarded no less than seven patents. This steam heating, condensate cooling, double jacketed thermodynamic steam trap is unaffected by ambient conditions and offers an incredible 10 times the durability of previous products.

TLV designs and manufactures a range of products and systems such as the award-winning CV-COS, an electro-pneumatic pressure reducing valve with a convenient control function; and the Vacuumizer, a vacuum pressure steam heating and cooling system. TLV has also revolutionised fluid control technology with the launch of its patented ‘Free Float’ steam traps which, with only one moving part, guarantee long life and reliability.
