New Tokmanni in Aura – Tokmanni further strengthens its store network in southwest Finland

Tokmanni, Finland’s largest general discount retailer, is expanding its store network to yet another location by opening a new store in Aura on Thursday, 7 May 2020 at 8:00 a.m. Many measures will be taken at the store to ensure a safe shopping experience, and there will be no events or free surprise buckets to celebrate the opening.
The newest Tokmanni is situated in a very central commercial location in the centre of Aura. The store will offer a wide assortment of, in particular, beauty, health and wellbeing products, home decoration, cleaning and seasonal products, and yard and garden products. It will also sell clothing, shoes and accessories, non-perishable foods, tools, and leisure, home electronics and entertainment goods, for example.
With retail selling space of around 1,950 square metres, the store has been designed in accordance with Tokmanni’s latest store concept, which emphasises effortless and pleasant shopping experiences. For instance, it has wide aisles, informative signage and well-defined product areas.
The new Tokmanni in Aura has a separate garden department, energy-efficient LED lighting and a recycling point for customers for small waste electrical and electronic equipment. The store also serves as a collection point for items purchased from the online store. In addition, the “Soita ja nouda” (“Call and Pick Up”) ordering service, developed by Tokmanni for customers in the higher risk group for coronavirus, is available at Aura, as at other Tokmanni stores.
The Aura store will increase the size of Tokmanni’s network in southwest Finland to 20 stores.

The Aura store employs 14 retail sector professionals. It will serve customers under the management of Store Manager Aleksi Samsten, on weekdays from 8 am–8 pm, on Saturdays from 8 am–6 pm and on Sundays from 10 am–4 pm. The store’s address is Huuskantie 19, 21380 Aura.
Tokmanni will take the necessary steps to ensure a safe shopping experience also at its new store. The safety of the customers and employees will be ensured at the Aura Tokmanni by offering customers hand sanitizer during their visit, reminding them to keep a safe distance with posters and announcements and, if necessary, limiting the number of customers allowed in the store at one time. On the opening day, customers will also be offered disposable gloves to wear while shopping. In addition to Tokmanni’s usual weekly offers, the Aura store will feature extra offers from the opening morning until the end of the week. The store will not hold an opening ceremony or hand out free buckets.
