Tokmanni establishes Sustainability Advisory Board to support its responsibility work
Tokmanni has established a Sustainability Advisory Board to support its responsibility work. The Advisory Board is composed of external experts and its objective is to support Tokmanni in its responsibility work development by giving the company an outside view of the company's responsibility performance and responsibility topics such as trends, risks, and best practices. The Advisory Board convenes twice a year and it will start its work in August 2017.
"Stakeholder cooperation and listening to our stakeholders is at the core of our responsibility work. The established Advisory Board provides us with valuable information about our stakeholders' expectations and how we best can respond to them. Responsibility is at the core of our strategy and we have worked on the matter for quite some time. The Board, which consists of many leading sustainability experts will, however, give a boost to our responsibility work and bring new ideas to our development work", says CEO Heikki Väänänen.
External Sustainability Advisory Board members are among others:
- Executive Director, Marja-Riitta Ketola, Finnish National Committee for UNICEF
- Director, equities, Jan Lehtinen, Elo Mutual Pension Insurance Company
- Conservation Director, Jari Luukkonen, WWF Finland
- Corporate responsibility expert, LL.D., Merja Pentikäinen, Opinio Juris
- Executive Director, Janne Ronkainen, the Trade Union Solidarity Centre of Finland SASK
- Senior legal counsel, Tuula Sario, the Consumers' Union of Finland
- Professor of Practice Armi Temmes, Aalto University, School of Business
"I am glad that we have been able to get front-line responsibility people representing different sectors and issues as members of our Board. I believe that we will have interesting discussions and we will get new ideas for developing our responsibility work", says Tokmanni's Head of Corporate Responsibility Outi Mikkonen.
