Tokmanni Group’s Dollarstore continues to expand its store network in Denmark – Two new Big Dollar stores are opening soon

Dollarstore opened its first Big Dollar stores in Næstved and Brønderslev in Denmark last October. This year, store opening ceremonies will be held twice again, in Hjørring in late September, and in Holbæk in November.
The Swedish discount retailer Dollarstore, which Finnish variety discount retailer Tokmanni Group acquired in August, will open two new Big Dollar chain stores in Denmark. These stores will be opened for the very first time in Hjørring on Friday 29 September 2023, and in Holbæk on Friday 24 November 2023. After these store openings, Big Dollar will serve its customers with four stores in Denmark.
The Big Dollar store in Hjørring will be opened in Hedevold 4, 9800 Hjørring and it will have around 3,100 square metres of space. In Holbæk, the new store, also measuring around 3,100 square metres, will be situated in an excellent commercial location in the city of Holbæk and can be visited in Søagervej 4, 4300 Holbæk.
Both new Big Dollar stores are designed to offer their customers a wide range of products related to hygiene, beauty, home décor, cleaning supplies, leisure, snacks and drinks and seasonal items to name a few. Big Dollar is a family destination that is designed to serve their customers with a fun and modern shopping experience.
Apart from the name, the general appearance and brand identity of the Big Dollar store chain largely follows those of Dollarstore chain, which is highly popular and praised among Swedish customers, says Anders Kind, CEO of Dollarstore.

Enthusiastic retail sector professionals and plenty of opening offers
The Big Dollar stores in Hjørring and Holbæk will both employ a Store Manager and around 8-12 other retail sector professionals. The new stores will serve their customers with long opening hours: on weekdays from 9 am to 7 pm, and on weekends from 9 am to 5 pm.
The Big Dollar chain will celebrate the openings of the new stores with plenty of special offers. The chain will reveal these opening offers closer to the opening ceremonies.

The Swedish variety discount retailer Dollarstore is responsible for the daily operations of the Big Dollar store chain and its stores. Tokmanni Group Corporation is one of the leading variety discount retailers in the Nordics, and its shares are listed on Nasdaq Helsinki. Since August 2023, Dollarstore has been part of Tokmanni Group.
The Group is currently serving its customers with 368 stores. Of these stores, 200 are Tokmanni stores, 130 are Dollarstore stores, two are Big Dollar stores, six are Miny stores, 28 are Click Shoes stores and two are Shoe House stores. Of these store chains, Tokmanni, Miny, Click Shoes and Shoe House operates in Finland, Dollarstore in Sweden, and Big Dollar in Denmark. Tokmanni Group continues to grow and renew its store network also outside Denmark. In Finland, for example, the Tokmanni store chain has entered into agreements on opening new Tokmanni stores in Tiiriö in Hämeenlinna, and in Pälkäne, Eurajoki, Söderkulla in Sipoo and Katajaharju in Kouvola. In addition, Tokmanni has concluded an agreement with the retailer and entrepreneurial couple Terttu and Jaakko Pirtinaho’s Mutalan Kauppa Oy to acquire the business of the Villen Kauppa grocery store. Tokmanni and Villen Kauppa serve their customers in a commercial centre that was opened in 2017 in Elovainio in Ylöjärvi. The business to be acquired will transfer to Tokmanni on 1 January 2024. In early 2024, the store will be combined into a Tokmanni store operating under the same roof.
The opening of the new store in Hämeenlinna, which will replace the old Tokmanni store in Tiiriö that will close this year, is planned for October this year. Construction work has started in Pälkäne, and the store opening is planned for next spring. The construction of the Tokmanni store in Eurajoki is scheduled to start next year, and the opening is planned for the autumn of 2024. The construction of the Tokmanni store in Söderkulla in Sipoo has started, and the opening of the store is planned for the spring of 2024. In Kouvola, the new Tokmanni store is scheduled to open its doors later this year.
The Click Shoes store chain is also expanding its store network in Finland. The newest Click Shoes store was opened in the Willa shopping centre in Hyvinkää city centre on Thursday 21 September, and the opening of the next Click Shoes store will be held in the Trio shopping centre in Lahti city centre in late October this year.
