Tokmanni is refurbishing its store in Mänttä – The Mänttä store will also become a full-range grocery shop

Fresh food products, such as various fruit and snack products, will be added to the selections of the Tokmanni store in Mänttä in the autumn. Its selections will also include food products from local producers and Finnish small producers. Tokmanni, Finland’s leading variety discount retailer, is currently implementing extensive improvements in its Mänttä store in the centre of the town of Mänttä-Vilppula. The store has served local residents since 2008. With the refurbishment, the store will also become a full-range grocery shop. The renovation project is expected to be completed in late October.
The Tokmanni store in the centre of Mänttä is being refurbished in line with newest store concept of the variety discount retailer. The concept emphasises quick and easy shopping.
“The selections of the Tokmanni store in Mänttä will be expanded in the food and garden departments in particular, with additional space. At the same time, shopping will be made easier through clearer product displays and new signage, for example,” says Harri Koponen, Vice President, Store Network and Concept at Tokmanni.
“As a result of the improvements, the store will have a more modern and pleasant overall appearance. Modern technology has already been installed in the store in the form of energy-efficient LED lighting and a solar power plant producing renewable electricity for the store.”
A comprehensive selection of fresh food products
Tokmanni will continue to offer its customers a comprehensive and interesting selection of products related to beauty, health and wellbeing, clothing, interior decoration, cleaning, leisure, home electronics, home improvement and various seasons, for example.
Tokmanni is also expanding the selection of food products available at its Mänttä store. During the autumn, various fresh food products – such as fruit and vegetables, fresh fish and meat, pastries and ready meals – will be added to the selection, which has previously consisted of dry foodstuffs, beverages and pet products.
“A large number of customers in Mänttä have expressed their wishes for a more extensive selection of food products. Our spacious store in Mänttä is ideal for a full-range food department, and as a result of the changes to be implemented during the autumn, our customers will be able to purchase consumer goods, food products and beverages conveniently under one roof. Overall, the food department will form a sales area of around 600 square metres in the store, which has a total sales area of around 3,200 square metres,” says Koponen.
The Mänttä store will become the 18th Tokmanni store to sell food products
Located at Pohjaväreenkuja 1, 35800 Mänttä, the Tokmanni store will continue to serve its customers during the renovation project in August–October.
After the renovation project, Tokmanni will have 18 stores that offer a wide range of fresh food products in addition to dry foodstuffs. Before Mänttä, the most recent renovation and expansion projects were implemented in the food departments of the Tokmanni stores in Järvenpää and Mäntsälä. These 18 stores also include the TEX chain stores transferred to Tokmanni in Tornio and Kemi at the beginning of August.
