Tokmanni refurbished and expanded its store in Kauhajoki – Wider selections and better shopping experiences

Tokmanni, Finland's largest general discount retailer, has expanded and renewed the premises and product selection of its store in Kauhajoki. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there were no store opening events or free surprise buckets to celebrate the completion of the renovation project.

The retail selling space of the Tokmanni store has been increased from approximately 1,550 to approximately 2,050 square metres. The store also has a separate garden department of approximately 170 square metres.

Thanks to the expansion, the Kauhajoki store now stocks hundreds of new products, for example tools, electrical accessories, as well as car-related and household products. The garden department offers a wide assortment of yard and garden products, for example garden furniture, tools, flowers, plants and liquefied petroleum gas.

Even before the Tokmanni in Kauhajoki offered a very diverse assortment of beauty, health and wellbeing, home decoration, cleaning, clothing, seasonal products, non-perishable food, and home renovation, leisure, home electronics and entertainment goods, for example.

In addition to the store premises and product assortments, Tokmanni has refurbished the product displays and shelf layout, for example, in accordance with its newest store concept, which emphasizes quick and convenient shopping. Energy-saving LED lighting has also been installed throughout the Kauhajoki store. Now there is also a recycling point for small waste electrical and electronic equipment.

The store continues to service as a collection point for items purchased from the Tokmanni online store. In addition, “Soita ja nouda” (“Call and Pick up”) order service launched by Tokmanni in April is available in the Kauhajoki store as well as in other Tokmanni stores. The service is intended for customers who belong to risk groups in these exceptional circumstances.

The Kauhajoki store employs approximately nine retail sector professionals. It will serve customers under the management of Store Manager Anita Kangasniemi, on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The address of the store is Topeeka 78, 61800 Kauhajoki.

The Tokmanni store in Kauhajoki served customers as usual throughout the expansion and refurbishment work. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there were no opening events or free surprise buckets to celebrate the completion of the renovation project.
