Tokmanni’s store network in Helsinki will grow in August – Tenth Tokmanni store in Helsinki will be opened in the Kaari shopping centre in Kannelmäki

Tokmanni, Finland’s largest variety discount retailer, is expanding its store network to West Helsinki by opening a new store in the Kaari shopping centre in Kannelmäki on Thursday 26 August 2021 at 8 am. Just like the other stores, Tokmanni’s tenth store in Helsinki will offer its customers a varied and interesting product assortment at low prices.

The new Tokmanni in Kaari represents the variety discount retailer’s latest store concept, which emphasises pleasant and convenient shopping and offers a varied product assortment. To ensure a pleasant customer experience, the store has spacious aisles, a bright and contemporary general visual appearance and clearly defined product categories.

The Tokmanni store, which measures over 2,000 square metres and is located on the second floor of the shopping centre, will specifically include a comprehensive assortment of beauty, health and wellbeing, interior decoration, cleaning, clothing, leisure, home electronics, home renovation and seasonal products, as well as non-perishable foods at very low prices, in the true spirit of Tokmanni. In addition, the store’s garden department will sell a wide selection of yard and garden products, such as plants and flowers and seasonal tools.

“In the same way as other Tokmanni stores, the store in the Kaari shopping centre serves as a collection point for products ordered from Tokmanni online store. Customers can order products not included in the store’s assortment, for example, from the Tokmanni online store and easily pick up their purchases in the store or when visiting the shopping centre otherwise,” says Timo Heimo, Vice President, Sales and Supply Chain at Tokmanni.

To celebrate the opening, the Tokmanni store in the Kaari shopping centre will have special offers from Thursday 26 August to Sunday 29 August 2021. The special offers will be revealed later.

Excellent location and extensive opening hours

The Kaari shopping centre, which is located by the crossroads of the Kehä I ring road and the Hämeenlinnanväylä highway, the busiest sections of road in Finland, is an excellent store site for Tokmanni.

“Our new store in Kannelmäki’s popular Kaari shopping centre, will make Tokmanni’s varied range of products even more accessible for customers in Helsinki and especially those living, working and shopping in its western region,” says Heimo.

“Kaari’s very central location means it is easy for customers to visit Tokmanni by foot, public transport or by car. Making purchases of large gardening products is also very easy as the garden department can be accessed not only from the store, but also directly from Kaari’s roof-level parking area. We want to warmly welcome everyone to Helsinki’s newest Tokmanni which offers a wide assortment and a pleasant shopping experience,” he adds.

The store, which employs about 15 retail professionals, will serve its customers with long opening hours: on weekdays from 8 am to 9 pm, on Saturdays from 8 am to 8 pm and on Sundays from 10 am to 7 pm. Tokmanni takes care of safety in many ways

Special attention is paid to ensuring a safe shopping experience. The safety of customers and employees is ensured with protective screens installed at checkouts and by offering customers hand sanitiser during their visit and reminding them to keep a safe distance with posters and announcements. In addition, it is recommended that face masks are worn in the Tokmanni store. To ensure a safe customer experience, Tokmanni recommends that customers avoid crowds, and may also limit the number of people admitted to the Kaari shopping centre store at one time. Tokmanni’s chain will continue to grow

Tokmanni aims to expand its store network to more than 220 stores in Finland. The new store in the Kaari shopping centre will increase the number of stores in the Tokmanni variety discount retailer chain to 195 stores around Finland.

Tokmanni has announced that in addition to the Kaari shopping centre in Kannelmäki in Helsinki it will open new stores in Kittilä and Nurmijärvi, and in Rusko in Oulu. In addition, Tokmanni will relocate to better commercial premises in Leppävirta and within the Forum shopping centre in Jyväskylä. In May Tokmanni relocated its store to larger commercial premises within the Trio shopping centre in the city centre of Lahti. In the summer it also closed its store in Tornio, acquired the TEX retail chain stores in Kemi and Tornio, and opened a new store in Kausala in Iitti. Tokmanni has also refurbished several of its stores around Finland this year.
