Tokmanni to open a new store in Naantali

Tokmanni variety discount store chain has entered into a long-term lease agreement for a store space in the new business centre to be built on Rautakatu in Naantali. If the zoning and other official matters proceed according to the planned schedule, Tokmanni's goal is to celebrate the opening of the new Tokmanni store in the new shopping centre at the beginning of 2026 at the latest.

The new Tokmanni store in Naantali will be about 3,800 square meters of space, which will enable offering a very wide range of products to permanent and leisure residents of Naantali and its surrounding areas, as well as to other people visiting the city.

“We are very pleased to be able to expand Tokmanni's store network to Naantali, where Tokmanni with a diverse product range has been hoped for a long time. Now we have found a store location that meets the wishes of both our customers and Tokmanni, so we confidently await the completion of the new shopping centre and the opening of our store,” says Harri Koponen, Vice President, Store Network and Concept at Tokmanni.

The Tokmanni store in Naantali will offer, as is characteristic of a variety discount retailer, a very extensive and diverse product range related to, for example, home improvement, interior decoration, clothing, detergents and cleaning products, seasonal products, and beauty, health and well-being. The product assortment will also highlight, for example, different products related to the yard and garden.

The Tokmanni Group’s network of stores will continue to grow and renew

Tokmanni has announced that it will open new stores this year in the Entresse shopping centre in Espoo, Eurajoki, Nikkilä in Sipoo and Sodankylä. In Eurajoki, Nikkilä in Sipoo and Sodankylä, the store openings will be celebrated at the end of this year. In Espoo, Tokmanni’s goal is to celebrate the opening of the new Tokmanni store in October-November this year. In Sodankylä, the new store will replace the existing one. In addition, the store to be opened in the Entresse shopping centre in Espoon keskus in Espoo will replace the Tokmanni store that has been serving its customers for a long time in the neighboring Espoontori shopping centre.

The openings of the latest new Tokmanni stores were celebrated in Pälkäne and Söderkulla in Sipoo at the beginning of April. In the Columbus shopping centre in Vuosaari in Helsinki, the variety discount retailer closed its Tokmanni store in mid-April due to the expiration of the lease.

In Espoo, Tokmanni not only relocates its Tokmanni store to a new store premises in Espoon keskus but also closes its Miny store when the lease expires. The Miny store opened in 2022 in the Lippulaiva shopping centre in Espoonlahti district will be closed in July 2024, as the lifestyle brand is seen to have better chances of success in the Miny shop-in-shop departments in selected Tokmanni stores in the city.

In addition, Click Shoes shoe store chain, which is also part of the Tokmanni Group, will continue to actively look for new store locations. The latest new Click Shoes stores were celebrated in the Koskikeskus shopping centre in the heart of Tampere, the Karisma shopping centre in Lahti, and in the Veturi shopping centre in Kouvola in April 2024.

The Swedish discount retailer Dollarstore, which joined the Finnish variety discount retailer Tokmanni Group last year, is also developing its store network in its operating countries, i.e. in Sweden and Denmark. The latest new stores were celebrated under the Dollarstore brand name in Uddevalla, Sweden on 22 March 2024 and in Tornby in Linköping, Sweden on 25 April 2024. In addition, Dollarstore will open a new store under the Big Dollar brand name in Frederikshavn, Denmark on 24 May 2024.
