Tokmanni to open a new store in the Lippulaiva shopping centre in Espoo in the spring of 2022 – An attractive selection and low prices for the growing Greater Espoonlahti district

Tokmanni, Finland’s largest variety discount retailer, will expand its store network by opening a new store in the Lippulaiva shopping centre, which will be completed in the Espoonlahti district of Espoo in the spring of 2022. The new store will be the fifth Tokmanni store in Espoo.

With an area of around 1,300 square metres, the new store will be located on the second floor of Lippulaiva. It will feature an attractive selection of products related to beauty, health and wellbeing, interior decoration, cleaning, clothing, leisure, home electronics, home renovation and various seasons, as well as non-perishable foods.

Tokmanni is particularly interested in the Lippulaiva shopping centre’s location and variety. Around 100 different shops, cafés, restaurants and services are said to be coming to the shopping center, which is currently under construction. Tokmanni will be one of the key tenants in Lippulaiva.

It is located near the Western Highway and the future Espoonlahti metro station and bus terminal for feeder traffic,” says Harri Koponen, Vice President, Store Network and Concept at Tokmanni.

Once completed, the new Tokmanni store will employ around ten retail professionals. Their recruitment is expected to begin in early 2022.

Tokmanni’s store network will continue to grow

Tokmanni aims to expand its store network to cover more than 220 stores in Finland. Currently, Tokmanni has 195 stores throughout the country. Four stores are located in Espoo: in the Espoontori shopping centre in Espoon keskus (Espoo centre), Laajalahti, the Sello shopping centre in Leppävaara, and Olari.

Tokmanni has announced that it will also open new stores in Kittilä, the Kirkonkylä area in Nurmijärvi and the Rusko district of Oulu. In addition, Tokmanni will relocate to a better location in Leppävirta. Earlier this year, Tokmanni opened new stores in the Kaari shopping centre in the Kannelmäki district of Helsinki and the Kausala district of Iitti, and relocated to better facilities in the Forum Jyväskylä shopping centre in Jyväskylä city centre and the Trio shopping centre in Lahti city centre. In addition, Tokmanni closed its store in Tornio, acquired the Kemi and Tornio stores of the TEX chain, and expanded its store in Kaarina. Tokmanni has also refurbished several of its stores around Finland this year.
