Tokmanni to open a store in Kalasatama, Helsinki in October – The REDI shopping centre store will be Tokmanni’s ninth store in Helsinki

Tokmanni, Finland's largest general discount retailer, will open a new and versatile store in the REDI shopping centre in Kalasatama, Helsinki in October this year. The store will respond to numerous customer requests and increase the number of Tokmanni stores in Helsinki to nine.

The Tokmanni located at street level (1st floor) on the Sköne side of the shopping centre will offer a wide and attractive assortment of beauty, health and wellbeing, interior decoration, cleaning, clothing, leisure, home electronics, home renovation and seasonal products as well as non-perishable foods at the very low prices it is known for.

Tokmanni considers the growing and densely built-up Kalasatama district and its REDI shopping centre to be a very interesting store site and a good opportunity to try out various commercial services.

“Our new store in Kalasatama will be the ninth Tokmanni in Helsinki and the seventh store located along the metro route. Tokmanni will further complement the range versatile services offered at the REDI shopping centre. As a new service offered by Tokmanni at the REDI store we will be testing fast delivery of online purchases to residents of the surrounding areas,” says Harri Koponen, Tokmanni’s Store Network and Concept Director.

The store, which has a total floor area of approximately 2,000 square metres and represents Tokmanni's latest concept, will be able to offer a wide assortment of products, as well as a pleasant shopping experience. The new Tokmanni will be designed in accordance with the general discount retailer’s latest store concept that highlights easy and pleasant shopping and a varied assortment, with wide aisles and products arranged into convenient product areas, for example. Energy-saving LED lighting is used as the shop lighting.

Tokmanni will employ around 20 retail sector professionals at its store in REDI. Recruitment of personnel recruitment for the new store has been started.
