Tokmanni has completely refurbished its store in Hervanta, Tampere. The opening of the Tokmanni store in the Duo shopping centre will be celebrated with special offers and free surprise buckets on Thursday 23 February 2023 from 8 am.

The Tokmanni store in Hervanta has been refurbished in line with the variety discount retailer’s newest store concept, which emphasises easy and pleasant shopping. The customer experience at the store has been significantly improved by, for example, new signage and the reorganisation of product categories into clearer product areas. The store has a total area of around 1,650 square metres.

The selection will continue to consist of beauty, health and wellbeing, interior decoration, cleaning, clothing, leisure, home electronics, home renovation and seasonal products in particular, as well as non-perishable foods.

New additions based on customers’ wishes include a shop-in-shop department for Miny, the lifestyle brand launched by Tokmanni last year. Miny offers a diverse range of more than 1,000 beauty, wellbeing and interior decoration products and other surprising and interesting things to buy. The selection also includes products from the Miny ECO range that contain recycled materials and bio-based materials.

“The improvements at the Tokmanni store in Hervanta will help us meet our customers’ expectations even better than before. They will ensure that shopping in our store will be much more convenient than before. More comfortable facilities that meet our needs will also make our employees’ daily work run more smoothly,” says Timo Heimo, Vice President, Sales and Supply Chain at Tokmanni.

“Many local residents have wished for the inclusion of Miny products in particular in the selection. It’s great to see that a Miny shop-in-shop department can now also be found in the Hervanta store, in addition to the store in the Koskikeskus shopping centre in Tampere city centre.”

Tokmanni has a long history of serving its customers in the Hervanta district. At first, there was a Vapaa Valinta chain store in the area for a long time. Vapaa Valinta merged with Tokmanni nearly 20 years ago, and since the 2010s, customers in Hervanta have been served under the Tokmanni brand.

Today, the Tokmanni store in Hervanta employs around ten retail professionals under Store Manager Tiina Huovinen.

The Tokmanni store in Hervanta now also has a shop-in-shop department dedicated to the Miny lifestyle brand launched by Tokmanni last year. The image above is from the Miny store in the Lippulaiva urban centre in Espoo. The Espoo store, which looks very similar to the Miny shop-in-shop departments found in more than 20 Tokmanni stores, was opened last autumn.

Convenient services, smart energy choices and extensive opening hours

In addition to offering a pleasant shopping experience and a comprehensive product selection, Tokmanni has invested in, for example, services that make customers’ daily life easier and in smart energy choices.

In all Tokmanni stores, customers can make purchases through the Tokmanni Tukku B2B sales function and as a member of the Tokmanni Klubi customer loyalty program. Customers can also pick up orders made through the Tokmanni online store and withdraw cash when paying at the checkout.

Tokmanni purchases only zero-emission electricity for its locations. As is typical for Tokmanni, the lighting in the Tokmanni store in Hervanta uses energy-efficient LED technology.

The Tokmanni store in Hervanta will serve its customers with extensive opening hours: on weekdays from 8 am to 9 pm, on Saturdays from 8 am to 8 pm and on Sundays from 10 am to 6 pm. The store is located at Pietilänkatu 2, 33720 Tampere.

Special offers and surprise buckets with product gifts

Tokmanni will celebrate the opening of its refurbished store in Hervanta with special offers from Thursday 23 February to Sunday 26 February. In addition, 500 of Tokmanni’s famous surprise buckets filled with product gifts will be handed out for free to the first customers of Thursday’s opening. A Tokmanni gift card worth EUR 50 has been hidden in two of the buckets.

Tokmanni’s chain of stores will continue to grow and renew

Tokmanni has entered into agreements on the opening of new stores in Konala in Helsinki, Söderkulla in Sipoo and Keljo district in Jyväskylä. The opening of the new store in Konala will be celebrated in the spring, and the new stores in Söderkulla and Keljo are expected to be opened during the current year.

Tokmanni is also aiming to refurbish several of its stores around Finland in 2023. Earlier in February, Tokmanni also announced that it had entered into an agreement on acquiring the entire share capital of the Finnish footwear store chains Click Shoes Oy and Shoe House Oy. Ownership of the companies will be transferred to Tokmanni on 1 March 2023.

Tokmanni aims to expand its store network in Finland to more than 220 Tokmanni stores by the end of 2025.
