EVP and Head of TOMRA Recycling Dr. Volker Rehrmann has decided to retire, effective 31 May 2025, after a remarkable career pioneering optical systems for waste sorting within the recycling industry. Volker has been a pivotal figure for the industry and in the company since TOMRA acquired TiTech in 2004, a leading recycling technology company he was part of founding.

"Volker will be greatly missed in the organization. His depth of knowledge and vision has helped TOMRA stay at the forefront of innovation within recycling technology over the past two decades, and we are profoundly grateful for his contribution to the company. Now, we wish him all the best in his retirement," says Tove Andersen, President and CEO of TOMRA.

TOMRA is pleased to announce that Katrin Fricke will replace Volker as the new EVP and Head of TOMRA Recycling. Katrin comes from the role as Managing Director of the German electronics company Katek, and has held several executive positions within corporate strategy, operations, and digitalization. She has an educational background in production engineering. Katrin will work closely with Volker before taking over on 1 June 2025.

"Katrin brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of delivering outstanding results. She is performance-driven and has a passion for technology and people. Her values align closely with the TOMRA culture, and we are confident that she will be a great champion in realizing our vision of leading the resource revolution. We look forward to the continued growth and success of TOMRA Recycling under Katrin's leadership," says Andersen.
