QUALCOMM in Talks to Buy Wilocity and Omnicom Group Calls Off Proposal with Publicis Groupe SA
QUALCOMM Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) is in advanced discussions to buy Israeli chipmaker Wilocity, according to financial news website TheMarker. The company has proposed to acquire Wilocity, which makes fast speed chips, for around $300 million. The two sides have not yet agreed to terms of all the provisions of the sale, TheMarker said. Qualcomm is already an investor in Wilocity, which develops 60 GHz, 7 gigabit wireless chipsets that allow for faster Internet speeds.
