Saxlund to aid in conversion of Slough Heat and Power
Saxlund International Ltd, a subsidiary of Opcon AB, the energy and environmental technology Group, has been awarded a material handling contract from O.Kay Engineering Services Ltd (UK), who has been given the overall Contract for the provision of a new fuel to boiler processing line at Slough Heat and Power, Berkshire, UK.
The Slough biomass based CHP-plant owned by SSE is undergoing an upgrade in order to broaden the fuel envelope. Saxlund will be responsible for the design and delivery of a new reception area based on its solid and well-tested floor discharger systems and storage. All designed for handling 25 tonnes per hour of shredded waste “RTU” and/or waste wood chips in order to increase customer fuel flexibility. Total order value amounts to around 8 m SEK and delivery is expected in February 2013.
