Government funding gives go-ahead for £10 million technology hub for TWI at the Teesside Advanced Manufacturing Park

TWI welcomes the recent announcement that the Government’s Local Growth Deal, secured by the Tees Valley Local Enterprise Partnership, will enable the build of its advanced training and examination facilities for welding and inspection and a new deepwater diving and underwater technologies tank at the Teesside Advanced Manufacturing Park (TAMP). The Lloyd’s Register Foundation has signed a heads of agreement with TWI to provide £15m research funding to establish the new National Structural Integrity Research Centre (NSIRC) nearing completion at TWI in Cambridge. The Foundation will become a Founder Sponsor and Board member of the newly-established Structural Integrity Research Foundation (SIRF), responsible for industrial support of NSIRC. Advanced composites microwave processing offers increased industry benefits
