Point S, one of Europe’s leading independent tyre dealer networks, has become the latest full member of the tyre safety campaign group TyreSafe. By joining the organisation, Point S will provide its 133 independently owned centres in the UK with a wealth of tyre safety advice and information, helping them to educate their own customers and improve standards of tyre care.

“With so many customer touch points, it’s fantastic to have the support and backing of a network as significant and large as Point S,” comments Stuart Jackson, chairman, TyreSafe. “Point S has an extremely proactive and positive attitude towards educating consumers about the importance of correct tyre care and maintenance so we are looking forward to working closely with them.”

As well as its sizeable UK network, Point S has a further 2,400 members located in 26 countries around the globe. It currently supplies a wide range of tyres to its customers include car, 4x4, truck and winter tyres, as well as brakes, exhausts and other vehicle servicing products.

As part of its involvement with TyreSafe, Point S will be firmly supporting this October’s tyre safety month. As well as boosting the amount of tyre safety advice and information on its website, it will be distributing TyreSafe’s campaign materials to its network to help raise awareness about the importance of regular tyre safety checks and maintenance, particularly at this critical time of the year.

The company will also be lending its support to TyreSafe’s ‘take the pledge’ initiative which encourages Facebook users to commit to checking their tyre tread depth with a 20p coin. A dedicated Facebook page and app has been developed by TyreSafe and will be promoted by Point S and it’s other members.

“Tyre safety month is always one of the highlights of the year for the industry and with renewed support from organisations such as Point S, it’s shaping up to be one of our most high profile ever,” concluded Jackson.
