Valmet Oyj’s trade press release on November 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. EET

Valmet will deliver an automation system to Suomen Teollisuuden Energiapalvelut – STEP Oy’s utility plant, which is under construction in the Harjavalta Industrial Park, Finland. STEP will build and operate the plant to deliver utilities to their customer’s (BASF) new battery materials plant.

The order was included in Valmet's orders received of the third quarter 2020. The value of the order will not be disclosed. The delivery will take place in spring 2021.

“We already use Valmet DNA as the main automation system at our Harjavalta power plant. As Valmet was able to offer competitive package, it was logical to expand the existing automation system to cover the new plant, too. Having only one system makes maintenance much easier as the staff already knows how to work with it. Additionally, the project gives us very good chance to get familiarized with new Valmet DNA User Interface, says Mika Nuotio, Automation Engineer, Suomen Teollisuuden Energiapalvelut – STEP Oy.

“It is a pleasure to continue our long-term cooperation with STEP in this very interesting project. The company currently has an automation system with DNA Operate process displays. This project will enable the customer to get acquainted with the new Valmet DNA User Interface and enjoy its many benefits,” says Arto Mäkinen, Sales Manager, Automation, Valmet.
