Martijn Hagens new Senior Vice President and Head of Business Area Markets at Vattenfall
Martijn Hagens has been appointed new Senior Vice President and Head of Business Area Markets at Vattenfall. He succeeds Anna-Karin Stenberg, who will leave Vattenfall later this year. Martijn Hagens will start in his new role latest January 1, 2024.
Martijn Hagens has a long-standing career at Vattenfall, with 20 years’ experience in different management roles in the organization. Before joining Vattenfall, Martijn Hagens worked at Accenture. Currently he is Senior Vice President and Head of Business Areas Customers & Solutions and Heat. He is also Managing Director of Vattenfall N.V. Netherlands.

Martijn Hagens will continue to report to Vattenfall’s CEO Anna Borg, be a member of the Executive Group Management team and he will remain Managing Director of Vattenfall N.V. Netherlands. The process for Martijn Hagens’ succession has started.
After eight years within Vattenfall, Anna-Karin Stenberg has decided to focus on the next phase in life. She will ensure an efficient handover. “Anna Karin has successfully steered Business Area Markets through volatile energy markets while building a sustainable and profitable business. I have truly enjoyed working with Anna-Karin and wish her all the best,” says Anna Borg.
