    Vattenfall InCharge wins European tender to install 22,000 charging points in the Netherlands

    The public charging infrastructure in the Netherlands will get a solid boost in the coming years. Vattenfall InCharge will be installing as many as 22,000 additional charging points over the next few years in Brabant and Limburg, two provinces in the south of the Netherlands.In recent years, Vattenfall InCharge has installed a total of more than 37,000 public charging points in Limburg and Brabant.     Vattenfall today transferred all shares in Vattenfall Wärme Berlin AG, including the power plants, grids, subsidiaries, employees and shareholdings, to the State of Berlin.The corresponding contracts were signed in December 2023.     Vattenfall Energy Savings Barometer: Energy saving continues to be a high priority among European consumers

    To save money is what drives Europeans to reduce energy consumption. Right now, in the middle of the summer, electricity prices are lower compared to some months ago, but this does not stop Europeans. For more than eight out of ten people, reducing their own energy consumption in their daily lives continues to stay relevant.     New research within the HYBRIT project shows superior results on the properties and quality of the hydrogen direct reduced sponge iron compared to the fossil-based process.     The carbon footprint of Vattenfall’s wind power has now been reduced to 13 grammes per kilowatt hour generated, compared to 15 grammes in 2016, and the reduction trend only continues. The new Swedish wind farm Blakliden Fäbodberget landed at a record low 8 g CO2/kWh. In this case, this is a 47 per cent reduction in emissions compared to six years ago.     Vattenfall to sell Dutch power plant Magnum to RWE

    Vattenfall and RWE have agreed that RWE will take over the Magnum gas-fired power station in the Dutch Eemshaven from Vattenfall as of 30 September 2022.
