Vattenfall announces sale of Enea S.A. stake

Vattenfall announced on January 15 the sale of its minority stake in the Polish utility Enea (Enea S.A.) for approximately SEK 2,2 billion. Vattenfall thereby completes the sale of its Polish assets.

The entire stake of 82,395,573 shares, equivalent to 18.67% of Enea’s share capital, was sold by way of an accelerated placement, for PLN 12,50 per share.

The sale totaled just over one billion PLN, equivalent to approximately SEK 2,2 billion.

The Enea share stake was acquired by Vattenfall in November 2008 for approximately SEK 4,6 billion. Vattenfall has continuously valued the shares at market price and consequently written down the book value of the shares by approximately SEK 2,4 billion.
