Status on patent disputes with Enercon GmbH, Mr Aloys Wobben

25 May 2007, 25/2007 of 4 June 2007, 38/2007 of 14 November 2007, 44/2007 of 18
December 2007 and 4/2008 of 16 January 2008. Vestas Wind Systems A/S has
informed of various patent disputes with Enercon GmbH/Mr Aloys Wobben. Mr Aloys
Wobben claims that Vestas Wind Systems A/S infringes various patents in the area
of grid connection.
In company announcement No. 4/2008 of 16 January 2008 Vestas informed that the
Dutch District Court of The Hague had handed down a judgment acquitting Vestas
with the effect that the following voltage patents owned by Mr Aloys Wobben:
Voltage control I (EP 1 040 564)
Voltage control II (EP 1 164 691)
were ruled invalid and that Mr Aloys Wobben's claims against Vestas were
rejected.
In the same company announcement Vestas informed about another pending dispute
regarding a patent on frequency control (EP 1 282 774) also to be heard at the
District Court in The Hague.
The court has on 2 April 2008 handed down a judgment acquitting Vestas with the
effect that the frequency patent is ruled invalid and that all claims against
Vestas have been rejected like the judgment regarding the voltage control
patents.
Vestas' management is very satisfied with the decision.
At the moment, it is unknown if Mr Aloys Wobben will appeal the rulings of the
District Court in The Hague.
Status regarding other grid connection cases
In the other cases regarding grid connection there is nothing to report in
addition to previous announcements regarding those cases.
