Vestas receives 96 MW order for Poland
Vestas has received an order for delivery of 48 V90-2.0 MW wind turbines for
different locations in Poland. The order has been received from the German
company Prokon. The contract includes delivery, installation and commissioning
of the turbines and a VestasOnline® Business SCADA solution.
Delivery of the turbines will take place during 2010 to 2012.
“We have worked very successfully with Vestas on the German market for many
years, so for us it is only natural also to choose Vestas as partner for our
first projects in Poland,” states Carsten Rodbertus, Managing Director of
Prokon.
Prokon has more than 15 years of experience as a developer, investor and
operator of wind energy projects. Until today, Prokon has installed a total of
234 wind turbines distributed on 32 wind farms in Germany. Besides wind energy,
Prokon is also active within bio fuel and renewable investments.
“This new contract with Prokon is a very important order for us, and we are very
pleased that Prokon has decided to plan their first projects in Poland together
with Vestas,” says Klaus Steen Mortensen, President of Vestas Northern Europe.
The above order does not affect Vestas' expectations for 2009 and 2010, cf.
company announcement No. 22/2009 of 27 October 2009.
