Volati continues growth with acquisition of Märkas AB
Volati has acquired all shares in the label producer Märkas AB, the eighth add-on acquisition since 2019. The acquisition is an add-on acquisition for the Industry business area and the Ettiketto business unit. Märkas reported sales of SEK 168 million in 2019.

One of Märkas’ major strengths is that the company is at the forefront in labels for challenging industrial applications. The acquisition is the Ettiketto business unit’s second add-on acquisition in 2020 and a result of our continuous efforts to identify potential acquisition candidates that can strengthen operations,” says Nicklas Margård, Head of Business Area Industry.
Märkas is a subsidiary of Eson-Pac with approximately 80 employees and production in Åstorp. The company was founded in 1967 and belonged to Strålfors for many years. The company develops, manufactures and sells self-adhesive labels for both consumer goods and industrial products.
“With Märkas, we strengthen our existing offering in self-adhesive labels and increase volumes, which brings economies of scale in production and administrative efficiency improvements. The acquisition fits well into Ettiketto’s strategy of continued growth and will contribute to an even stronger platform as a comprehensive supplier of label solutions,” says Nicklas Margård.
The acquisition has been financed through Volati’s existing credit facilities and the company will be consolidated from the end of September 2020. The acquisition is not expected to have any significant impact on Volati’s earnings for 2020.
