Invitation for press: Outlook for the European construction market after the financial crisis
The global financial crisis had a severe impact on the European construction market. After the peak in 2007, the downslide has been significant. This year the amount of construction in Europe is diminishing further – for the fourth consecutive year.
The future of the European construction industry will be the main topic during the conference of the EUROCONSTRUCT network in Helsinki between 16-17 June. This event organised by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland deals with the short term outlook of the construction industry until 2013 and the mid-term until 2020.
EUROCONSTRUCT network publishes the latest forecasts on European construction market to the press on Friday 17th of June. The presentations will be held in English.

In the press event the state and the outlook of the European construction will be presented by the president of the EUROCONSTRUCT organisation, VTT senior advisor Pekka Pajakkala, housing construction expert Barbara Brito Martins from Portugal’s ITIC (Instituto Técnico para a Indústria da Construcáo) and senior scientist Markku Riihimäki from VTT Expert Services. A lunch will be served for the press.

The annual conference of the Euroconstruct organisation will be held in Helsinki between 16-17 June 2011. The event is organised by VTT, Finland’s representative in the EUROCONSTRUCT organisation. The network consists of almost all European countries. The conference was held in Finland previously in 1992.
