115 new rental apartments for Lunden in Gothenburg
Today, the City Executive Board’s Chairman Ann-Sofie Hermansson together with Wallenstam carried out the first “blast” in the work to build 115 rental apartments in the Lunden district of Gothenburg, more precisely located on Ulfsparregatan. Wallenstam’s new construction project in the very heart of Lunden includes two buildings, which will consist of space-efficient, mainly one or two room apartments, with preliminary occupation set for the fourth quarter of 2018.
“This new construction project means that we are providing 115 attractive rental apartments in one of Gothenburg’s most popular residential areas. It’s a very nice location close to stores, restaurants and within cycling distance of Gothenburg city center,” says Thomas Dahl, Deputy CEO of Wallenstam.
“The rate of building is now increasing substantially in Gothenburg. Wallenstam’s 115 new rental apartments will be one of many positive pieces in this development, Rental apartments are particularly important in the efforts to build a mixed city for everyone,” says Ann-Sofie Hermansson, Chairman of the City Executive Board in Gothenburg.
The buildings will be constructed based on the guidelines in the program for environmental construction in Gothenburg, which means that buildings will have low energy consumption and a good indoor environment. Many of the apartments will command a beautiful view over the city and the majority of the 115 apartments will have a balcony.
Blasting and earthwork for the new construction project will be carried out in conjunction with Tornstaden, which is building 94 cooperative apartments next to Wallenstam’s two buildings.
The architect for Wallenstam’s new construction project is Erseus Arkitekter AB.
