Avis and Wallenstam in new mobility initiative
Early next year, Wallenstam’s tenants in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Uppsala will be offered a sustainable and environmental alternative to owning a car. Through a new form of cooperation with Avis, the Wallenstam Drive mobility solution is being expanded and will offer residential and commercial tenants access to a car when needed and at a reduced price. The agreement also means that Avis will make an entry into the Swedish market with its pool car solution.
The cooperation between Avis and Wallenstam will run for three years. This means that from early next year, Wallenstam’s tenants can book a pool car based on their own needs through a user-friendly, digital booking and payment solution.
“Long-term sustainability is important for us, so naturally it feels great to be able to offer our tenants a good cost-efficient and environmental alternative to owning a car through Wallenstam Drive,” says Elisabeth Vansvik, Communications Director at Wallenstam AB.
“For us, this represents a first and important step in Sweden with regard to pool car solutions, which we are really looking forward to. We are very happy to be able to carry out this unique initiative together with Wallenstam and contribute to more sustainable travel for their tenants,” says Ole Grønvold, Managing Director of Avis Budget Scandinavia.
Wallenstam launched Wallenstam Drive as a pilot project during fall 2014. At that time, the service covered tenants in Gothenburg and was offered in cooperation with Sunfleet and Hertz. We have included the experience gained from the pilot project in the new agreement with Avis, which covers all of Wallenstam’s tenants in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Uppsala − in other words about 7,700 households and 1,000 enterprises.
