Wallenstam is building 138 new smoke-free rental apartments in Majorna. Preparations have been in progress since last fall but an official blasting has now been carried out for the new construction together with Axel Josefson, Chairman of the City Executive Board in Gothenburg.

“It feels wonderful to be underway with this new production and to contribute to more homes right in the middle of one of the most popular areas in Gothenburg,” says Hans Wallenstam, CEO of Wallenstam.

The newly constructed apartments will be built at the intersection of Oljekvarnsgatan/Kolumbusgatan in Gothenburg. The buildings will be constructed on an undulating site, which follows the hill. 138 rental apartments will be distributed among three buildings containing studio and one bedroom apartments. Apart from apartments, two commercial premises will also be built on the ground floor with business activities that suit the area.

“New apartments are a requirement for a lively city. I think it is positive that more rental apartments will be provided in such a central and popular location,” says Axel Josefson, Chairman of the City Executive Board in Gothenburg.

The project is part of the Bostad2021 initiative and occupation will gradually occur during 2020-2021.
