‘Click rocket’ in Nacka welcomes the first tenants

The first keys have now been handed over to the tenants in Wallenstam’s 1920s classicist block Nacka Grace. A new construction that was the Stockholm Housing Agency’s most clicked on project this summer in the new construction category. Along Nya Gatan, right in the heart of Central Nacka, the block is now gradually being filled with life as the first phase of tenants move in.

Although the block fully exudes the 1920s and elegance from top to bottom with stuccos and moldings on the façade, mullioned windows and penthouses featuring balconies on the top floor, all modernities are in place. The construction has also been carried out with environmental and climate work in mind. For example, climate-improved concrete has been used, a deliberate measure that lowered emissions in certain building elements, such as the foundation and frame, by between 20 and 40 percent.

Letting and the occupation in Nacka Grace of 169 tenants is taking place in stages with final occupation expected before Easter next year. Inside, the tenants will encounter ash parquet flooring, turned moldings, soft white walls in harmony with featherlight color palettes and sustainable natural materials. The block consists of twelve stairwells in total, encircling a common courtyard, which will have a lawn, pergola and a fountain surrounded by lush vegetation with biodiversity in focus. Aside from apartments, the block also contains twelve fine premises on the ground floor where the cool aesthetics of neoclassicism is combined with modern functionality.

“With Nacka Grace, we want to create a wonderful mix of apartments and businesses and contribute to an urban environment that features great contrasts and variations. It is a really fantastic and different project with architecture from the 1920s in harmony with a stylish interior and modern features,” says Mathias Aronsson, Vice CEO and Regional Director of Wallenstam in Stockholm/Uppsala.

About half of the apartments in Nacka Grace will be allocated via Wallenstam’s cost-free housing queue and half via the Stockholm Housing Agency.
