Colive to open in Gothenburg and Kallebäcks Terrasser
In fall 2022, tenants will be welcomed to Colive’s first coliving apartments in Kallebäcks Terrasser. Wallenstam has now obtained a building permit for 12 coliving apartments containing 121 coliving rooms, which will be let by Colive. The tenants will live in private rooms with their own toilet and shower and will share common social areas and a kitchen within each coliving apartment.
“It is really great to be now underway with the construction of coliving housing in Kallebäcks Terrasser together with Colive. To be able to help with new forms of housing, so that more young people can enter the housing market, in a new exciting, social living environment is a contribution to our sustainability focus that feels both important and completely right for the future,” says Marina Fritsche, Vice CEO of Wallenstam.
The coliving apartments are being constructed in Kvarter 10, Hållbarheten. It is a semi-closed block with six stairwells, of which two are designed for coliving. It will contain 121 coliving rooms divided among 12 shared apartments. Apart from this, the block also includes 73 rental apartments.
“It is a great milestone for us to have contributed to a project where we can shortly offer young people social and flexible living with a high standard of housing in Gothenburg. The application is done easily via colive.se” says Katarina Liljestam Beyer, COO/Co-founder of Colive.
In addition to the co-living apartments, the tenants have full access to common areas on the ground floor with a “social laundry room”, workspaces, socialising areas, a bicycle repair room and a patio.
“Wallenstam is one of the property companies that has understood that the new coliving form of housing is here to stay and that it fills an important gap in the housing market. Our partnership enables effective collaboration at a very detailed level. Colive’s peak competence in coliving, combined with Wallenstam’s longstanding experience of housing construction has proven to be a success story. We have combined our expertise in this planning and design work, which has now resulted in a building permit for 121 coliving rooms in Kallebäcks Terrasser,” says Katarina Liljestam Beyer.
In Kallebäcks Terrasser, new construction is currently underway of 975 rental apartments as well as the area’s large office property with smart, flexible premises. In the longer term, Kallebäcks Terrasser will comprise 1,800 new homes and 1,200 office workspaces as well as schools, nursery schools, restaurants, cafés and local services. The first residential tenants will be welcomed to their new homes in the fall.
