Completed transactions and construction starts during the first half of 2020

During the first half of 2020, Wallenstam started the construction of almost 400 apartments in two projects, in Gothenburg and Mölnlycke. In addition, several transactions and agreements were completed that will enable future new production. 

The construction starts involve 267 rental apartments in Kv.8, part of the urban development project Kallebäcks Terraser in Gothenburg and 116 rental apartments in the Väven block, part of the urban development project Mölnlycke Fabriker in Härryda Municipality. All 383 apartments are planned to be ready for occupation during 2022.

In March, Wallenstam obtained a land allocation in Älta Centrum in Nacka Municipality. The land allocation involves approximately 180 apartments and is located adjacent to Wallenstam’s center development of Älta.

During the first half of 2020, Wallenstam acquired the following land and site leasehold rights for a total agreed property value of about SEK 262 million:

  • Three site leasehold rights in Gothenburg, Majorna 721:75, 721:78 and 721:81, with the address Fiskhamnen 23-27. The site leasehold rights were acquired via a company transaction and were taken into possession on April 1, 2020.
  • Land in Täby Municipality in the form of the properties Tibble 10:8 and 10:9 as well as Bergkristallen 1, and which for Wallenstam, represented the company’s entry into a new municipality. The properties were acquired via company transactions and were taken into possession on April 29, 2020. The transactions were announced in a press release on April 30, 2020.
  • Land in Uppsala Municipality, the property Kvarngärdet 71:1. The acquisition relates to a larger transaction with Rikshem, which was completed during 2013. The property was acquired via a company transaction and was taken into possession on June 24.

Wallenstam is now also a 25-percent joint owner in Colive through a new issue, which was announced in a press release on February 24, 2020. Colive is one of Sweden’s first operators of co-living housing through so-called co-living hubs. Colive and Wallenstam have already collaborated on projects in both Stockholm and Gothenburg.
