From parking place to meeting place
Wallenstam’s work on developing Victoriagården in central Gothenburg will be finished by spring 2019. The previous parking places and the relatively closed and inaccessible courtyard are being replaced by four shops and two new eateries/cafés right in the middle of central Gothenburg. The reconstruction is part of Wallenstam’s work on the development of the Victoria block.
“We are working actively to create an attractive offer with more meeting places in central Gothenburg involving strong players, interesting stores, restaurants, cafés and cultural elements. For us, it is also about offering indoor and outdoor environments that people want to stay in. We want to see the inner city as a safe and beautiful sitting room,” says Anders Forsling, Chief Account Manager at Wallenstam.
The entrance to Victoriagården will be from Södra Larmgatan 16, Vallgatan 21 and Victoriapassagen itself. Victoriagården will give visitors the possibility to shop, socialize, have something to eat, a glass of wine or just enjoy the wonderful atmosphere.
“Victoriagården will be a genuine oasis among characterful, beautiful buildings and a mix of interesting retailers, right in the heart of the Victoria block. We are looking forward to the inauguration during spring 2019,” says Forsling.
For a long time and in different ways, Wallenstam has worked on developing parts of Gothenburg inner city together with the City of Gothenburg and interested tenants. The conversion of Victoriagården is one part of the whole project of reconstructing Victoriapassagen and the Victoria block, which in purely geographical terms consists of parts of Södra Larmgatan, Vallgatan, Victoriapassagen, and a shorter part of Korsgatan and Västra Hamngatan in Gothenburg.
