Housing App contributes to increased sharing economy and security

This year, Wallenstam’s Housing App celebrates its fifth anniversary. The first pilot test started in spring 2019 and today, 81 percent, almost 10,000 apartments, are connected. In the App, the tenants have access to everything about their accommodation in the one place. In the community section, which is a social flow in the App for the tenants in each property, a total of about 3,000 discussions are in progress per month. Here the residents can help each other and share, sell, exchange and give away things.

“We see many inspiring examples of good neighborly relations and an increased sharing economy through our Housing App. Everything from neighbors who help each other in everyday life, for example with shopping, pet sitting to exchanging, selling and donating items to tips about things in the accommodation and the local area,” says Elisabeth Vansvik, Communications Director at Wallenstam.

Some 70 percent of Wallenstam’s tenants who have the Housing App, use it each month.    Apart from finding questions and answers, contact information, manuals and care instructions, tenants can easily report a fault, pay their rent, book common areas and read about offers.

“Through the platform’s broad functionality, we clearly see that it creates value for our tenants in a wide variety of everyday situations. It also contributes to an increased presence, security and dialogue for those who so wish” says Elisabeth Vansvik.

In 2019, Wallenstam was one of the first property companies to implement a large-scale housing app, and in connection with this include the customers’ social flow in each property as part of the overall experience. The ambition is to continually develop new features in the future to provide the tenants with a more convenient everyday life.

Wallenstam’s Housing App has been developed by Avy, which provides the Nordic Countries’ leading housing platform and strives to improve the tenant experience in more than 300,000 households throughout the Nordics.
