Housing app promotes neighborhood cooperation for 9,800 tenants
Starting from the middle of September, all of Wallenstam’s 9,800 residential tenants will have access to their housing through their mobile phone. The property tech company Tmpl is behind Wallenstam’s housing app. An app where the tenants gain easy access to news about their housing, customer service, service-sharing and the possibility of a social flow for residents in the same building. Many have subscribed and the neighborhood cooperation has increased.
“The development of services is a natural part of our innovation and sustainability work. Approximately 85 percent of the tenants in our new construction projects use the app and we also see many inspiring examples of good neighborhood cooperation. All from neighbors helping each other with tasks, looking after the neighbor’s cat, to asking for help with tips about things in the local area,” says Elisabeth Vansvik, Communications Director at Wallenstam.
Wallenstam’s app was launched in a pilot test during spring 2019 in collaboration with the property tech company Tmpl from Uppsala. Tmpl is behind housing and office apps for a number of major property companies in Sweden. Wallenstam was first to rollout the app on a large-scale basis.
Apart from finding questions and answers, contact information, manuals and care instructions, Wallenstam’s tenants can book times for common areas if they wish. Here it is also possible for tenants to report errors and through a social flow to share, sell, exchange and give away things to their neighbors. The goal is to continually develop new functions in order to offer tenants a more convenient everyday life.
“Through the app, our residential tenants can also transform the sharing economy into practice,” says Elisabeth Vansvik, Communications Director.
“We are pleased to note a rapidly increasing interest among the residents to use the app’s broad functionality, which shows how it creates value for the residents in a number of different everyday situations. Now we are working together with Wallenstam to sharpen the service offering further,” says Henrik Svanqvist, CEO of Tmpl.
