New modern office space for Avenyn
At Kungsportsavenyen 34, Wallenstam has now started the next stage in the development of the Avenyn area with the Sturefors project. The property is being extended with a new building and a total of 3,400 square meters of new office space will be created in one of Gothenburg’s best locations. The new building will be incorporated in the existing structure and will be ready for occupation by fall next year. A large roof terrace will be constructed on the roof, which will offer a unique view over the city life below.
“We have worked consciously over time based on an ambition to create an attractive meeting place on Avenyn with an exciting range of fashion, food, art and culture. The development of Sturefors will involve a modernization of the block, which will give a boost to the entire area,” says Marina Fritsche, Regional Director Gothenburg at Wallenstam.
The extension will provide about 660 square meters per floor of new office space in an open plan layout, of a high standard with new technology at an attractive address.
Avenyn 34 is the third property on Avenyn where Wallenstam has recently developed new commercial space. Even Teatergatan has been provided with new shops, restaurants and apartments as part of the development of the area.
“Kopparhuset, which last year was named Western Sweden’s smartest property, and Avenyn 21 where Convendum provides activity-based coworking space, are two reconstructions that have contributed positively in different ways to new flows and meeting places in the area,” says Fritsche.
Aside from Wallenstam’s work in the development of the Avenyn area, the City of Gothenburg is carrying out improvements to the entire streetscape, including furnishing, new meeting places, lighting, planting trees and increased accessibility.
The architect’s office for the Sturefors project is Gajd Arkitekter.
